Too many times while I was doing this, the momentum of the character would carry me past where I wanted to go, and since the terrain is constantly moving and changing, it becomes very hard to judge how and where to control your character. You have to run close to the rod when they're not shooting out electricity and stab the glowing emblems. Me included, obviously.Īn example would be the 7th or 8th colossi, the one with the electrical rods. It's not that hard to figure out.īut here's the thing most people don't understand - some people just don't like the way it controls. Like I said I'm about halfway done with relative ease. Is it because it's more of an artistic game? Is it because it didn't sell super well at launch so people constantly feel the need to push it? Or is it just a game people feel a strong personal connection to, so when someone brings up a gripe of their own, it's like insulting their favorite movie?Īgain, I can get through the game just fine. This isn't necessarily directed at you, but why is there such a strong 'talking down to' attitude from people who love this game to those who were kind of lukewarm on it? If I am completely off about what you had the problem with, that's only because you never really say what is wrong with them. A big part of the game is picking your moments.Īnd as for the horse, what problems are you having? Just so you know, it will navigate obstacles itself, so as long as you don't try to run at a full gallop through a forest, you don't even have to touch the analog stick. You go try running, walking or jumping on a simple unstable surface, and see how well you do, much less a giant beast trying to shake you off. And this includes standing up and running. When climbing a giant monster that is trying to shake you off, if you don't hold on for dear life, you are going to get tossed off. When running, you try to stop and depending on how fast you are going, it takes a little time to stop, or you are completely off balance. OK, I'm curious what your definition of that is since you say you have a different idea of what that means. Now you said you have a different idea of what "controlling realistically" means. I do miss the overblown bloom or whatever you call it that the PS2 version has.īefore I continue with the remake, I'll try the PS2 version once more and see if I do better in it.OK, I've read this thread and I'm not yet sure what your problem with the controls. I don't like how Wander looks in this game though. It's not groundbreaking but the art style is superb. I never had this issue with the PS2 and PS3 versions. It feels like sometimes it doesn't even work like when I want to ride Agro and press the button to do that and it doesn't register that I have to press it again to make it work. Whenever I fall into the ground, the camera just focuses on the ground even when Wander has already stood up and I can't move the camera for a few seconds after that. It moves to different directions randomly even when Wander is still. I know the PS2 version isn't perfect with its terrible performance but I never had issues like the ones I'm having with the remake. Like the game is trying to screw me over. I even played and finished the PS3 port as well. I have played and finished the PS2 version multiple times.
